It is important to consider nighttime safety when designing an outdoor lighting system. To provide lighting for safe pedestrian and / or vehicular movement, pathlights (ground mounted decorative fixtures) or bollards are often used alone or in combination with moonlighting fixtures. Fixture placement and spacing, location, and lamp intensity are the key elements to consider when incorporating pathlights into a landscape lighting design.
