Featured Project

Moonlighting is used to illuminate the upper and lower patios. Pathlighting defines the lower patio’s perimeter and, in combination with the wall mounted steplights, provides lighting for safe pedestrian travel. The upper and lower portions of the water feature are lighted, with the cascading water in the lower section illuminated with two underwater fixtures. Notice the shadow contrasts that have been created there. Softer lighting has been used in the upper pool to highlight the water plants and the small Japanese maple behind the pool. Uplights using lamps (or bulbs) of varying intensities and beam spreads have been used throughout this project to light select specimen trees and the two large hardwood trees near the rear of the property. The fork in the rear tree to the right has been highlighted, along with the texture of the tree to the left. By varying intensities and beam spreads, we have created an appealing mix of shadow and light, which our clients are able to enjoy while in their yard or when viewed from inside their home.
